When the pumpkin latte arrives at Starbucks, that’s how you know it’s officially Autumn. We’re getting cosy & comfy today with one outfit you need to wear in Autumn 2018. Grab a coffee and your outfit planner and let’s have some styling fun.

You’ve seen these prints on Pinterest and Instagram and to be fair, I feel like a good old checked print sets the mood for Autumn. As well as all the other bits: autumn candles, rusted leaves, chestnuts and pumpkin cupcakes. I wanted to fully embrace this season, so I did a little shopping of candles, cupcake trays and other pieces of decoration for my house last weekend – I did a quick haul on my Instagram stories @notagirlygal.

Getting cosy: One Outfit You Need to Wear in Autumn 2018

There are a lot of combinations you can choose and think about while creating a patterned outfit Autumn look. You can go for dresses worn on top of jumpers, checked skirts and white shirts or checked vests on top of a (really) autumnal outfit.

not a girly gal

I chose this classic print because I assume that all of you have a checked printed piece of clothing at home waiting for you to style it. As the checked item will represent the main piece in your outfit, you would like the other pieces not to stand out as much as the others.

TIP: Go for Earthy colours such as nudes and maroons to make the patterned piece steal the show.

 Time for the perfect accessories

It’s Autumn: your perfect excuse to go big on accessories! I love wearing hats, berets, big earrings and watches.

The elegant watch I am wearing is the Viol by Obaku (a Danish brand just launching in the U.K) – I love how the watch comes in the same colour of my jeans. It looks so fragile on my wrist, I think that’s what makes it elegant. If you’re looking for a simple watch this season, keep close as I will be running a giveaway soon!

The beret just makes this outfit so chic – I got this one from Paris from a cute boutique.

Earring wise, I think H&M are smashing it with their collections – these ones are from Holister, but I haven’t been in there for a while now.

 Alternatives to hats

If hats are not really your thing, a sleek ponytail is always cool to wear in autumn. From my point of view, top knots and ponytails work so beautifully with scarves of any kind: small, big or even knitted.

Talking about knits, I feel that I’ve been getting on to my knitted stuff lately. I just like Autumn fashion because it’s more than just wearing a dress – it’s the art of layering that makes me enjoy creating outfits for both my blog and everyday wear. I guess it’s the same for all of fashion lovers out there.

Hello there,

I’m extremely happy to take part in LFW again! The crowds, the street style and the fabulous shows are just a couple of reasons why I enjoy it so much. Also, champagne and chatting to blogger friends are always a plus for me. I’ll take you with me during my first day at Fashion Week, so you can have a look at the amazing fashion from the comfort of your sofa.

STREETSTYLE

What did I wear during Day 1? I’ve chosen to wear this piece by Anja Rock, a Spanish designer. As it’s short, I paired it with some vintage high-waisted jeans. The long boots are a must have during LFW of course – so are the hats and statement trench coats.

Johnstons of Elgin

The first presentation of the night was the amazing Johnstons of Elgin who showcased items that reminded me of a mysterious desert. They transformed one of Waldorf Hilton’s halls into a desert oasis. I believe the inspiration for this collection is the bohemian style of people living in warm countries in the Middle East.

lfw

What intrigued me was the fact that flip flops are still in style for Spring – Summer 2019; they just have a string on the toe. I only said intrigued because in all honesty, I don’t see why we should wear flip flops all over the city anyway, like almost everyone did last summer. They’re made for the beach (if). Period.

IMG_4100.jpg

Nevertheless, the designer combined goddess dresses, flowy suits and romantic scarves with straight cut elements. The prints that ruled the presentation were a combination of black & white stripes (you know I have something for them) and oriental prints (on a small scale). In terms of the colour palette, the designer opted for black &white, bright colours such as lime yellow and bold navy blue.

What stole the show?

I could clearly see some trends being shown such as the flip flops I told you about and the flowy dresses, but my favourite trend was the straight cut mixed with an interesting scarf.

Takeaway: Inspired by this collection, we can wear similar patterns and colours every day. Think of the suit outfit, you can find items in your wardrobe that resemble the style and can be easily worn in that combination. Just add a fun scarf and you can change the look!

Trending colour of the Johnstons of Elgin collection: Bright yellow, navy blue, black & white.

For more collections check out their website.

I made my way to the next show feeling inspired by the collection I’ve just seen, thinking about the hard work the designer put into creating it. We reached the Freeman’s Hall and were super keen to attend the Ashley Isham Show – my first show of the season. It better be freaking awesome, I thought.

Ashley Ishman

Ah the glitter! Ashley showed a glittery collection for the SS19! The colour combination was bold and can make you think that actually it can be quite hard to pull some dresses off. But, that the beauty of it, isn’t it? Well done, Ashley for encouraging us to be bold.

Ashley Ishman

The whole collection was dedicated to luxe summer parties – I’m thinking award nights or even ceremonies. It’s also wedding season, but not sure if people will wear bling bling at weddings. Either way, I quite liked the boldness of the collection.

Ashley Ishman

To get an idea of what I mean, have a look at this dress – pink & blue. That’s a bold mix, isn’t it?

For me, it has to be the black embroided jacket. Superb details of the jacket make me think of the legend Michael Jackson and his Dangerous world tour and his signature style.

Me and my friend Saffy (who is so wonderful and genuine) wrapped up the night with some Japanese food at the Itsu around the corner of the venue where we met some other blogging girls! It only lasted for 30 minutes though as they were closing down the place and I finished my second dish on the tube – cause my philosophy is why buy one when you can buy two?

Thank you for reading! Stay tuned for day 2 at London Fashion Week!

Hello there my lovelies,

You might think that this grey sky shows no mercy to our outfits, but that doesn’t mean we can’t pull off amazing clothes, just like we did last season. I had a bit of a rough time adapting to the season, but after all, I’m happy that I have autumnal items to play with. With that said, right now we’re styling a super easy to wear cocktail shirt that you can wear in the evenings.

I’ve been on the Madison house rooftop with my boyfriend and a couple of good friends on a really sunny September evening. Aperol Spritz and funky music were calling my name while I was dancing on the terrace. We had such a great time that I now call it my favourite place in London.

Upgrading your Autumn Outfits in 2018!

Shoot in that exclusive location, today’s outfit has one special item that I was looking for since a while now. It’s that one thing we all need in our closet, but I just didn’t find the right one: a long shirt. You probably have a rough idea that I’m a big fan of shirts – any shape or length…even better if the shirt is white. What you don’t know is that I also love feathers. So, what happens if I find these two elements in one item? Exactly! Nirvana!

IMG_3636

The best way of wearing the long shirt (the trick you need to know)

You’ll find that the best ways of wearing a long shirt is belted. I mean, long shirts are quite loose and of course as longs as I don’t expect them to be body con, I at least want them to look a bit more body hugging. I find long shirts to have an irregular shape that doesn’t look that great without the belt that adds dimension to your body. Search for a medium wide waist belt and get ready to sip on that cocktail with your girlfriends.

IMG_3640

What I love about this outfit, is that you can wear any shoes with it. I mean any of these will look amazing: boots, knee-high boots, heeled boots, stilettos, wedges. I would recommend to select your shoes depending on the location you will choose for going out. If you go to a nice rooftop bar, you want to choose the boots or stilettos and leave your Creepers for going out in Camden. You certainly get my drift here, right? From my point of view, shoes can change an outfit so much!

IMG_3642

Keeping warm: You can certainly add a nude trench coat on top of it in case it’s a bit cold.

When it comes to your hair, considering that the outfit is quite boy-ish, I would totally go for curls. I like keeping my hair wavy – I love that effortless waves that shout ‘I woke up like this’.

Thank you for reading! I hope you’ve enjoyed this post and got you looking for a long shirt to add to your closet. What’s your favourite piece to style this season? J

Love,

Happy beginning of Autumn, everyone! 🙂

I’m genuinely really excited to share these autumn 2018 trends with you! There are a lot of fun looks on runways for this season, but the ones that caught my interest are: bright colours and tweed. Therefore, I thought to create a super ‘on trend’ outfit for you. Let’s dig into it and see how you can easily recreate this cool look.

Bright colours to inspire your Autumn days

Bright colours are still extra popular this season. To be honest, I was expecting them to take the beat seat, but actually they are poppin’.  I only take this as super good news because just think about it: you don’t have to buy anything new to embrace this trend. Just look through your spring wardrobe for the most colourful items and you’re set. I’m sure you have a shirt or a blazer in a crazy colour 💃🏻 I’ve picked out this yellow blazer as it can keep me warm if needed through out these early Autumn Days.

… now, who is in for some tweed?

Bored of them or not, tweed is the thing for Autumn. They’ll never be out of fashion. Did you actually know that its original name was ’twill’, but a London merchant misread the name written on a package received from Scotland and kept advertising it as ‘tweed’. That sounds like something that I could probably do – I have my own names for things just because I read too fast. You can mix tweed with warm bright colours like in this outfit, or you can go for the same colours in your tweed (blue / grey / brown).

It’s your decision if you want to mix the two trends or keep them separate, but this is a cool outfit overall, so I totally recommend trying it. I would love to see you coming up with Autumn outfits and ideas of how we can get excited about this season’s fashion!

Hello there,

I guessed you want to keep yourself on top of the autumn trends of 2018. That’s why today we’re looking at prints inspired by the Animal Kingdom. Collections from Tom Ford, Diane Von Furstenberg, Carolina Herrera and Calvin Klein take us on a wild journey this autumn. Will you embrace this trend with open arms?

Images owned by Vogue UK.

Animal Print Origins

Just as stuffed animals were kept as trophies, royalties used to also decorate their palaces and castles with animal printed rugs as a sign of high status. Regarded as exotic, during the Bohemian Movement in the States in the 60’s, the animal print became highly popular among women.

Wearing animal prints in Autumn 2018

For me, animal prints have a fine line that is easy to cross. A printed leopard coat can look tacky, just as a cheetah printed dress can be too much! It’s true, the origin of the print comes from the gypsies where everything is extravagant. As cool as it had been in the past, nowadays an adaptation of the style is what’s trending. Now that we know the things to avoid, let’s get into picking up the perfect colour scheme and prints.

Choose One Animal Printed Item

You might love a lot of animal printed items – belts, scarves, shoes, dresses, blazers. That’s great! It’s key to limit yourself at wearing one printed item per outfit. I find the Zebra print the best of all – it’s the one far from looking cheap. In this outfit, I have chosen the Zebra scarf to be the star of the show. I’ve always had a passion for scarves, I own them in every colour possible … and in a couple of prints.

Animal Print Scarf Miss Andrada.jpg

Animal Prints and how to wear them

Once you have decided on the print, it’s time to choose your colour scheme. If you choose a Zebra print, then your go-to colour pallet should be black and white as primary colours. If you’re loving a leopard one, then a nude colour scheme is your best friend. This theory is pretty easy to follow, and it will save you a lot of time. Besides, you’ll put together more stylish outfits. And.. we all want to be stylish, don’t we?

I have opted for a classic Autumn outfit as you can see: black jeans, scarf, sun glasses and wedges. I love it because it’s suitable for more occasions: work, drinks out, a nice dinner. That’s my dear readers, the definition of the stylish modern women who doesn’t need to change 3 times a day for different occasions. I imagine myself jumping from the tube to a business meeting and then having drinks on the London’s best rooftop – all these while dressed in the same outfit.

What’s your opinion on animal prints? Do you believe in the fashion concept of the modern woman I described?

I hope you got inspired by the autumn trends 2018 and how to wear them best! 💋

Until next time,

Hello there,

Areee you ready for some Autumn fashion trends? ME TOO!

Guess what? 70’s colours are back! Roskanda, Miu Miu, Chloe and Isabel Marant are just a few designers that showcased shades of caramel, toffee and beige at AW 18. The little black dress can take the back seat because nude and caramel colours are must haves in a women’s wardrobe this season. I already love this trend and it didn’t take long until I was already in deep research about it. By the end of this article, you’ll feel you want to join the team of caramel lovers.

Curious about how to wear this trend? You can opt for ponchos, knitted dresses and oversized jumpers, but also for elegant T-shirts you can wear with a checked blazer (another must have of the season). And talking about caramel, I would love a caramel latte right now – it will totally complete an Autumn outfit, right?

Wearing Caramel in Autumn 2018

Choosing from a lot of options, can become an actual task, and guessing by how busy all of us are, I am sure that browsing loads of magazines for inspiration is fun at first… but then when it comes to looking for items online, not knowing what to pick can be a bit time consuming. But, don’t worry! I’ve got you covered.

I found myself this simple caramel, but trés chic T-shirt in New Look. Its black edges got me though – a simple t-shirt with a twist. Remember this trick from me: to create a statement outfit, every item should have something that makes it special. Keep your eyes on nice items, even though it’s a simple T-shirt, you never know how it might upgrade your look.

The perfect colour scheme for Autumn’s hottest caramel

You can wear caramel this season by pairing it with black, white, yellow or even dark green. I feel it’s a classic colour that makes a statement of a comeback every time and it’s just a matter of preference and unique personality that dictates on what colour to wear it with. Don’t you?

The Caramel Outfit Checklist

In today’s outfit, I’ve picked black as a complementary colour, because the two look so luxurious together and opted for a faux leather skirt as I know it will keep me warm in early September. The cloche black skirt goes perfectly with the slim T-shirt, because when wearing a ‘baggy’ skirt, you would want your shirt to complement it. Remember what I said about wearing ‘special’ items only? Take a close look at the skirt’s edges –a wonderful embroidery lets the skin be seen through and adds a subtle sexy element to the whole outfit. Get ready to embrace this trend and feel amazing while doing so.

Next…Accessorise it

Let’s take advantage! This is the only time of the year when knee-high boots can be worn with a skirt (from a weather forecast point of view). I love wearing skirts with boots, as the skin gap above the knee makes the outfit stand out more. You have to try this in Autumn!Miss Andrada Autum Trends 2018 .jpg

Faux Leather Skirt by Beloved

Thank you very much for reading! I hope you now love this trend just as much as I do and inspired you while shopping for the new season. Let’s connect on Instagram – I love to see different styles!

Heya,

Hold back the layering for now! We can still play around with our summer wardrobe, although I know, one fresh ‘autumn full of clothes’ closet is waiting for you. Well, let it wait a little bit more, because today we’re looking at adapting your summer style to early autumn.

Adapting your summer wardrobe

Let’s talk about what you can actually keep from your summer wardrobe.  My one and only rule: if you’re not feeling cold while wearing it, it’s acceptable to wear in fall. I am usually cold in sheer tops in early September, but I’ve seen other women feeling comfortable in them. It’s all in how you feel. In my case, I will keep blouses that have fabrics that will keep me a bit warm, to avoid wearing other layers. And with all the heat we’ve got in summer, I feel like I can face the weather challenges of September without embracing the onion style since the beginning. Ah, and your sunglasses are still a must!

miss andrada transition outfit september.jpgmiss andrada early september.jpg

Next… transform it?

It might be just me, but statement jewellery goes amazingly well with autumn outfits. I’m not wearing a lot of big jewels in summer because it’s way too hot sometimes. Autumn outfits can get a bit similar but I always save them by wearing a nice piece like this one below. Pretty cool, right? You will notice that by the jewellery you’re adding, the outfits will completely change.

miss andrada september transition outfit.jpgmiss andrada sepe.jpg

Make-up for Autumn

A hint of dark blush, a bit of highlight and most importantly dark lips = my secret recipe for autumn make-up. I even gave up my eye wing for it. Can you believe this? You can even choose nudes and a peachy make-up!

Besides wearing the boyfriend ripped jeans, I don’t wear blue jeans anymore. I opt for black skinny jeans over them at any time and I like to get new ones for the new season, so they look fresh and ready to go. One suggestion that I have is try to buy them in the summer sale – they are way cheaper and you only need them one month later.

TIP

Keep your colours fun – one of the highlights of Autumn Fashion from AW18 is that bold colours are back on trend. I will make a post on that soon 🙂

Thank you for very much for reading! Hope it was fun to explore transition outfits from summer to fall, together!

Love,

Hello there my favourite girls,

For me the whole summer dressing style relies on flowy fabrics, dreamy prints and perhaps some ruffles here and there. When it comes to prints, somehow I always pick stripes, no matter the season (writing this I’m wearing a stripy T-shirt), and I have one best friend that does that too. One day when we were out shopping, we saw this absolute gorgeous stripped jumper… we looked at it, we looked at each other and she said ‘I think we’re good with stripes’ and none of us got it in the end. That was one thing, but I didn’t have anything with stripes for summer. I saw this pair in Zara in the beginning of May, haven’t planned on buying more stripes and decided they would look wonderful with wedges by the Sicilian sea shore. I was so right! Let’s style this outfit together, shall we?

miss andrada cool pants

Styling stripy pants

I’m super aware that fashion magazines encourage us to mix patterns with other patterns. Well, unless they’re Dolce Gabbana pants with other Dolce Gabbana tops, I don’t feel it’s safe.  Yes, I don’t like when I see too many patterns in an outfit and yes, I don’t encourage it. I am never afraid to ‘take sides’, but this doesn’t mean I have something against it. I know you know that, I just felt the need to say it, because things are taken way too personal these days.

miss andrada street photography

I always say that a super cool outfit has something interesting about both (top and bottom items). You’ll notice this from the outfits that I’m posting. Here, I am wearing a bra having 2 stripes in front – which you can’t really see because of the big chain necklace. Then, I have chosen a simple loose T-shirt on top. I have found this shirt a while back in a charity shop I believe – it’s just from Zara but it’s made out of this knit fabric that I really like. So, the both make a really interesting top to go with the pants.

miss andrada street style

Tricks for baggy T-shirts?

My trick for a baggy shirt is making a knot on a side to give it a casual look, but also in this case I needed something less baggy as the pants are baggy enough. Do you know what I mean? Same goes for wearing cloche dresses – you just want to wear them with something slim fit on top.

Keep your colour palette to B&W

I like to wear black and white completely when I wear stripes. It just feels right. It makes me laugh now because I wish I could show you my outfit now when writing this post from Bella Italia in the airport – stripy T-shirt and black leather skirt. All Black and White.

TIP: Create a story for your outfit

This outfit takes me to the flower power times. It has that bohemian vibe. Don’t you reckon? That’s why I love fashion so much. You can get inspired by any look or age and transform it into an outfit. Someone in the agency once told me that everyday I look so different, and now I understand why. I like to play around with different looks and just have fun with it. For me, there’s really little rules to fashion (but I have some rigid ones), it’s more about being able to express myself and feel confident.

Thank you very much for reading and I hope you have a new idea for an end of summer outfit.  How do you like to wear your stripes? Let me know in the comments below!

Love,

Hello there,

Wearing something cool and comfortable in the same time, during the days that are sightly ‘colder’ than the usually summer days can be a bit difficult. Should you wear a dress? Then, you’ll probably be cold. Should you wear flats? Then, you would probably ruin them in case it rains. No more headaches! For those days, I created, what I like to call ‘the autumn outfit for summer’.

miss andrada how to wear a bold outfit 2

As you can see, this is not an autumn outfit. Otherwise, I would have call it just that.I easily took some elements that are assigned to autumn styling. But, you probably like to wear items that are not just for summer, too  – and you totally should because it will upgrade your cold summer evenings’ outfits.

miss andrada how to dress bold zara.jpg

Upgrading your summer outfits

Let’s take a basic summer outfit: shorts and a simple white top (similar here). You would wear this in summer, right? Now, when a summer day is a bit cold you shouldn’t go for long pants, light jumpers and so on. You can still wear your summer clothes! Just wear them with army boots, hats (find mine here), a leather jacket (find mine on sale here) or even longer boots if they are light. I PROMISE you,  your overall appearance will be so cool and you’ll feel so much better – sometimes long pants on a summer day can be a pain (I’m talking from experience haha).

Keep on reading for more tips on how to actually wear this outfit

miss andrada bold.jpg

Adding confidence to your outfit

If you’re not used to mixing items like so and if you need a bit of confidence for it, just remind yourself that you are your own kind of beautiful and you can wear whatever empowers you.

Finding your own style

It might be that hats are not your thing or that leather jackets are not. You can try to come up with replacements for these: big statement earrings – the ones you would normally wear in October, or trenches. Take my tips above and just twist them and adapt them to your own style. Get creative and you’ll start to reinvent your wardrobe.

Enjoyed this article? I would love for you to share it on your favourite social media platform or talk to your friends about it 🙂

What is your fashion way of embracing the colder summer days?

Lots of love,

Hey there 🙋🏻

Do you struggle with clothes in summer?

Do you feel like all of your tops and shorts just look horrible together? Girl, I absolutely can relate to that. I find it quite challenging to put an outfit together when there are 30 degrees outside. Let’s get into what exactly I do to come up with easy, on the go outfits.

Find 5 clothing pieces that you like from your wardrobe

They don’t have to go together. Just choose the ones you best like and represent yourself. Not something you’ve seen online and bought it because you thought it was cool for the moment. Think about something along these lines: timeless and items that are 100% you. I would recommend picking 5 items, so you have a solid starting point. They can be dresses, tops, shorts, skirts, sandals, you name it. So, gather your beloved items only please and get ready to the next stage.

loving your clothes again.jpg

how to love your clothes again.jpg

Reinvent the way you wear your clothes

Next, you want to come up with new ways of mixing your clothes, so they look different (to you) than what you’re used to wearing usually. It’s like giving your outfits a second ‘life’. I happened to come up with this idea of making my outfits fresh after I went on a rant about my wardrobe. I’m not the one to stay in the complaining mood for too long, so I prefer coming up with a solution. For example, I really like this yellow dress, but it goes boring wearing it on its own all the time. So, I just added a cool shirt on top. Voila, a new outfit. Don’t stop just at adding new things on top, but be creative: other shoes, maybe change the hairstyle a bit, or even add some statement jewellery or accessories. I always worn this dress with converse and a backpack, so to me this restyling of it, makes me feel like it’s a completely new outfit.

Loving your wardrobe again miss andrada

But.. Andrada, what if I don’t have time…? Well, we’re all busy with our lives, but I truly believe that there are a lot of times when you can actually fit it 30 minutes for yourself. Can’t you? 💋

So, reinventing your wardrobe should be on your top priority list any season and whenever you feel like your wardrobe can be a bit mundane. What is your way of falling back in love with your clothes?

Lots of love,
